Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Burghers of Calais Statue in Victoria Tower Gardens South Park. Here, joined by a guide specialising in the history of London, we'll kick off an exciting tour of a city that has perfectly preserved its essence despite evolving at a rapid pace. Did you know it’s one of the most visited cities in Europe?
We'll start in the heart of royal and political power at Westminster. Here, we'll admire the imposing Houses of Parliament and stand beneath Big Ben, where our guide will reveal the surprising secret of why the famous clock tower isn't actually called Big Ben! Can you guess why?
Just steps away, we'll admire Westminster Abbey, the majestic church that has hosted over 1,000 years of royal coronations and weddings.
Next, we'll take a scenic stroll through the beautiful greenery of St. James’s Park, leading us to the gates of Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of the monarch. Along the way, we'll talk about great military history and famous historical figures who shaped the nation, from Winston Churchill and the Suffragettes to Queen Elizabeth II and even James Bond.
Moving onward, our route takes us through Trafalgar Square and into the bustling streets of Theatreland, passing traditional historic pubs and cultural landmarks.
Finally, we’ll wrap up our 2-hour and 45-minute tour in the lively heart of modern London at Covent Garden.
